We just might have a position for you! Spiceworks Ziff Davis is on the hunt for an experienced Research Director, ERP & Financial Management professional to embark on a never-ending quest.

What you’ll do

As an Aberdeen Research Director, ERP & Financial Management, you’ll be tasked to oversee and execute Aberdeen’s research coverage in the field of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Financial Management Technology, example themes and topics include, but are not limited to:

• Cloud ERP Strategies
• Enterprise / Corporate Performance Management (EPM / CPM)
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Accounts Payable / Receivable (AP/AR) Automation

What will be your responsibilities

• Revenue & project delivery (~50% of time): commit to on-schedule, high quality production of research-based revenue deliverables, including written content assets, webinars and speaking events, and custom research projects.
• Client & business development (30% of time):
• Maintain a regularly updated list of target client accounts.
• Collaborate frequently with the Sales team to coordinate topic alignment and outreach strategy with the objective of direct client interaction.
• Demonstrate topical knowledge and research alignment in client outreach activities as well as during direct client interactions.
• Work with the Sales and CS team to develop client proposals aligned with research capabilities and aimed at developing long-term relationships.
• Research planning and execution (20% of time):
• Publish research findings (e.g. blogs, reports, videos) on a monthly or more regular cadence to expose key insights and build market presence and credibility.
• Maintain a forward-looking research agenda, updated quarterly, to communicate upcoming research roadmap to the market and clients.

Develop and maintain collaborative and positive relationships with multiple stakeholders both internal to Aberdeen team as well as other connected teams within our group of technology brands, including:

• Aberdeen’s research data & operations (RDO) team
• Sales leaders and account reps
• Client success team
• Growth marketing team

What does it take to do this job

• 10+ years of relevant experience and exposure to the market for enterprise software applications.
• In-depth knowledge and deep understanding of the enterprise software and technology landscape (e.g. ERP, EPM, FP&A) as a practitioner, a marketer, or an industry analyst.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and a professional polish to deliver research findings in a clear and compelling manner.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to lead research projects and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
• Willingness and intellectual curiosity to explore new areas of research adjacent to the core coverage areas.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
• Master’s degree preferred
