Salary
Salary Range: $35,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours per Week
Non-Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
Function:
-
To provide skilled technical assistance in a medical/research laboratory.
Scope:
-
Responsible for assisting laboratory technologists in effectively carrying out medical and scientific tests.
Duties
Job Duties may include any one or more of the following:
-
Performs standard laboratory experiments.
-
Culture and maintenance of pluripotent stem-cells and associated organoids.
-
Perform immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy.
-
Prepares laboratory specimens.
-
Assembles and operates laboratory and field equipment.
-
Positions, weighs and assists in procedures with experimental animals.
-
Collects and records data and performs mathematical tasks involved in summarizing results of experiments (may include statistical, numerical or multivariate analysis, operation of calculator or adding machine and related clerical functions).

Prepares chemical compounds, reagents and culture media.
-
Prepares and specializes bacteriological culture media which may require somewhat refined techniques for use in teaching and research.

Develops, prints and enlarges film data.

Prepares anesthetic agents and induces anesthesia to animals.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
-
Six months of laboratory experience.
-
Personal computer and equipment used in the laboratory assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of college-level science classes.

One or more years of similar experience.
Working Conditions
- Usual laboratory conditions.
-
Hazardous materials and equipment may be used in laboratory.
Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
