Resident Assistant
EF International Language Campuses
San Diego, CA
Job Description:
EF International Language Campuses in San Diego is looking for a talented and exceptional individual to join its team of Resident Advisors! We seek a motivated, responsible, dynamic, and community-building individual to take on the exciting challenge of working in an international environment. Previous experience as a Resident Advisor is always a plus, but it is not required!
About the School:
EF San Diego is one of many international language schools that accepts students from all over the world to live in an amazing city and learn English. Located in Point Loma, this campus holds about 700 students in the residence in addition to our students who stay with host families.
About the Position:
As an RA at EF you have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a highly diverse student population and a high-energy staff. The position provides great flexibility and requires you to wear many hats including administrator, leader, event coordinator, role model, counselor, and policy enforcer (to name a few). This is a job where we truly ask you to bring your personality to the position.
All shifts occur during nights and weekends, making this a perfect part-time job for someone in school or working a typical 9-5 job. All weekday shifts start at or after 6 PM. Very rarely, we may ask for some weekday availability for trainings.
While on duty, you will be performing administrative tasks, and be on-call in the residence. We also ask that you help plan and organize two activities, do weekly room checks, and attend bi-weekly staff meetings. Additional shifts may be requested to meet the demands of the school operations. We are looking for RAs that are not only friendly and personable while working at the reception desk, but can also build meaningful connections with the residents on their floor, even when off-duty! The part-time nature of the position also allows for the flexibility to pursue a graduate degree in related fields or maintain a "day job." Taking night classes cannot conflict with desk duty during the week.
Earnings:
Benefits of the Position:
As an RA at the EF International School of English you receive a free room and board. Private room is not guaranteed. In addition to this, you will receive an hourly wage for all of your assigned shifts.
