At Revvity, we are taking the next steps to evolve the traditional Manufacturing Engineering role.  Our business is driving rapid improvements through line design, cell management, materials management and NPI development. 

 

This Manufacturing Engineering Internship role will provide support to the Production Engineering Team and assist with hands on problem solving, NPI prototyping, and supporting the production line. The candidate will gain hands on experience combined with improving their engineering skills.

 

*Start Date: This Internship is set to begin on May 26, 2025 and will end on Aug 22, 2025; dependent upon student availability, per academic calendars.

*Location: This position will be 100% working Onsite - located at our Hopkinton, MA office.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with functional testing and analysis of newly developed products to ensure operation and reliability
  • Operate electrical and optical test equipment, including meters, scopes, and computer-controlled testing
  • Assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of test failures for system level test
  • Assist with disposition of nonconforming parts (MRB)
  • Assemble multi-level electro-mechanical sub-assemblies into complex assemblies using a variety of hand tools
  • Assemble and disassemble test configurations as necessary
  • Improve and document manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes
  • Be willing to learn new technologies and procedures to remain current with industry standards and new products

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an interdisciplinary engineering degree such as Biomedical, Industrial or Robotics Engineering. Candidates pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree with a strong mechanical background will also be considered
  • 1+ year of experience using CAD 3D modeling to create and modify Engineering drawings

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated hands on electromechanical project or job experience
  • Willing to learn LEAN manufacturing concepts and apply knowledge to projects assigned
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)

 

Physical Requirements & Expectations:

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
