In this role, you will be responsible for the timely analysis, review, reconciliation, approval, execution, and status reporting of Rho’s contracts.Our Legal Team will tell you, joining Rho has been one of their best career moves in terms of contentment, financial rewards and career growth, which is why we have such stability in the group!Responsibilities• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients in a timely and professional manner• Respond to email and other communication requests in a timely fashion using a variety of methods including but not limited to email, instant messaging and other communication tools• Ability to maintain confidentiality• Takes initiative to complete project-specific responsibilities with minimal supervision• Perform initial legal review and drafting of various contracts to support internal clients’ needs, including all types of agreements related to federally funded projects as well as master, confidentiality, consulting, sponsored research, vendor, intellectual property and other services-related agreements, using corporate templates as appropriate under the circumstances. All contracts must effectively balance Rho’s best interest with applicable compliance requirements.• Apply to contracts generation and review a thorough working knowledge of relevant rules and regulations applicable to agreements related to federal prime contracts or subcontracts as well as commercial and other procurement regulations.• Negotiate and resolve legal issues raised by the other parties to agreements.• Work collaboratively with internal and external clients to set appropriate priorities and deliver results within the timelines established.• Independently investigate assigned legal questions; escalate issues, as appropriate.• Maintain and update, as necessary, contracts in legal filing systems and trackers.• Communicate and negotiate with external and internal parties, creating relationships built on trust.• Keep internal employees and other stakeholders properly and timely informed of the progress and status of contracts in the process of being negotiated.• Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.• Conduct work with the highest degree of integrity, responsibility, and excellence in client service.• Work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of different personalities.Qualifications• BA/BS required; Juris Doctor Degree preferred and minimum of 6 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology contract review, formulation, and negotiation preferred; or an equivalent combination of relevant and preferred education and/or work experience.• General knowledge of standard contractual agreements and regulations, including CFR, FAR, HHSAR, DFARS, OMB Circulars, commercial regulations and other standard legal terms and conditions is preferred• Ability to work independently• Ability to treat highly confidential information in a professional and discreet manner• The successful candidate must be proficient in MS Office-based applications• Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; demonstrate written, verbal and presentation skills to help showcase the successes of your work and Rho’s.• Committed to Quality: Every job at Rho requires an attention to detail, a deep understanding of our high-quality scientific standards, and an ability to care about every outcome. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to role responsibilities and location as well as candidate skill set and level of experience.
