Risk Director

We are seeking highly driven and innovative Risk Directors to protect the integrity of the tax and superannuation systems.

As a Risk Director in our Client Engagement Group, you’ll have a lead role in identifying and understanding behaviours and risks (including emerging) and develop strategic and operational initiatives to manage behaviours and risk and meet our government commitments.

This work includes:

• Using evidence-based analysis (including making sense of and drawing on intelligence and insights) to identify and assess tax and superannuation compliance risks, and develop holistic treatment strategies (including strengthening controls, preventative tactics and candidate selection methodologies) to sustainably change behaviours.
• Implementing appropriate governance frameworks to understand the impact of strategies and assuring treatment tactics and case selection processes are achieving intended outcomes within expected timeframes, including by developing effectiveness measures.
• Measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and using these insights to improve treatment strategies.

You will use your strong communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills to explain how your program of work contributes to our strategic objectives and to influence networks to approve your strategies for implementation.

You will also nurture and manage business relationships within and outside the ATO to operationalise your strategies and capture/share information from intelligence sources to assess their impact and make changes where tactics are not leading to desired outcomes.

You will lead and mentor a team of risk officers and intelligence officers and work with business partners to provide cross jurisdictional coordination of tailored intervention strategies.

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Albury, Box Hill, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Dandenong, Geelong, Gosford, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Moonee Ponds, Newcastle, Parramatta, Penrith, Perth, Sydney CBD, Townsville, Upper Mount Gravatt or Wollongong.

Salary: $135,609.00 – $153,703.00 per year
