Job ID 2411162Location HUNTSVILLE, AL, USDate Posted 2024-08-28Category SoftwareSubcategory SW TestingSchedule Full-timeShift Day JobTravel Yes, 10 % of the TimeMinimum Clearance Required SecretClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain NonePotential for Remote Work NoDescriptionSAIC has an opening for a BSD Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL.Responsibilities Include• Develop software test plans, conduct test case steps and report results.• Submit software problem reports, and work with other members of the team to accomplish the development mission.• Provide software test engineering support to the Patriot tactical software life cycle program at the Army's Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration facility (S3I) at Redstone Federal Arsenal.• Review and verify BattleSpace Designer (BSD), BattleSpace Viewer (BSV), and Patriot Command Post documentation algorithms and requirements.• Test BSD software to validate program requirements.• Use various protocols to communicate Link 16 data to the BSD display.• Perform verification and validation testing on all software requirements and software fixes. Review test procedures and reports related to BSD testing and Software Requirement Specifications (SRS).• Validate results by testing over 40,000 software requirements in the program annually and submit Software Investigation Reports to developer for product enhancement.• Attend team meetings to discuss status/problem reports discovered during testing and integration events.• Submit problem reports to software developers based on independent testing.• Report progress on problem resolution to management.• Develop and test Air Defense, Defense Designs for Global Areas of Operation to validate software requirements using BattleSpace Designer, Interoperability Engineering System (IES) and Network, System Integration & Test Environment (NSITE).• Test software written in C/C++ and software on Linux.• Support contractor and government testing of Patriot software at S3I.QualificationsEducation Requirements• Bachelor’s and two (2) years or more related experience. An additional six (6) years of experience may be applied in lieu of a bachelors.Clearance Requirements• Active Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.Required Experience/Skills• Experience testing or operating BSD or other military systems.• Experienced military trainer.• Experience testing software.• Experience operating software on Linux.• Experience with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking, routing, switching, and other basic network concepts.• Prior experience working in a fast-paced Government program.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
