The Team:


Get exposure to Sales as a member of a fun, hard-working, and self-motivated team! As an intern on the Sales Development team you will learn everything you need to know about sales amongst the highest achieving sales reps in the tech space. Our sales team works with a best-of-breed product that solves real problems for our customers, following a well-defined methodology that helps them identify the customer's unique needs and clearly convey the value of the Datadog product. The Opportunity:


Join the team behind the monitoring and security platform trusted by thousands of organizations as part of Datadog's 2022 internship program. As an intern, you'll work alongside (and learn from) full-time Datadog employees in a community-focused student cohort. You'll receive guidance from professionals in your field of interest, build relevant experience that you can apply in the real world, participate in outings and networking events with your fellow interns, and collaborate on important initiatives that directly impact the company. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend exclusive talks with Datadog leaders and mentors, who will give advice and share the lessons they’ve learned over the course of their careers.


Looking to get exposure to tech sales? No sales experience? That’s okay - we’ll teach you everything you need to know! Datadog is the monitoring and analytics platform for developers, IT teams and business users in the cloud age. As a Datadog Sales Development Intern, you will support the Sales Development team in account buildout, prospecting, and generating opportunities to support the overall growth of the business.


Datadog will not be accommodating relocation or housing for the business internship program.


 


You Will:


Partner with Account Executives to generate leads

Have specific daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly pipeline metrics to help achieve sales goals

Develop, present and implement plans for acquiring new business and traction in your assigned area

 Cold call and email prospective customers 

 Utilize lead generation tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, DiscoverOrg, and Salesforce

 


You Are:


 An undergraduate student enrolled at a U.S.based university or college targeting a graduation date of Dec 2022 - Aug 2023

 Able to intern from May 31 - August 19, 2022

 Fluent in English

 Motivated by a career in sales

 A self starter, driven, dynamic, eager to learn

 Someone who has excellent written & verbal communication skills

 Offer best of breed onboarding 

 Train you on sales methodologies (MEDDIC and CoM) and product knowledge

 Receive job training and mentorship that will expand your skill set!

 Job shadow team members to learn how their day to day impacts the larger organization

 Cross functionally liaise with stakeholders to complete assignments 

 


Bonus Points:


 Interest in technology, cloud computing, IT industry

 SaaS/cloud experience, Salesforce experience

 Prior exposure to a CRM tool 

 Proven ability to influence others and create a sense of urgency

At Datadog, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including your work history and professional experience. These considerations potentially can cause your compensation to vary.


The Sales Development Intern has an annual starting salary of $45,000, plus variable compensation and a competitive equity package.
