Sales Director, Federal Cyber and Supply Chain Defense

The Position
As the Sales Director, you will run Federal Business Development in close collaboration with the BVGS leadership team. You will be responsible for executing the entire federal business development process (e.g., prospecting, opportunity identification, initial outreach, preparing pitch materials and proposal materials, etc.). In doing so, you will leverage new and existing internal and external resources to ensure our objectives are met and achieve the desired effect (i.e., pipeline creation, opportunity conversion, and revenue booked).
The successful candidate will take our product into new customers and run the entire sales cycle to deliver our software solution. The position requires prior experience selling Software as a Service (SaaS), software, or managed services to the US Federal Government. Experience in selling to the Department of Defense and an understanding of the Federal acquisition cycle is required.
The candidate will build, train and mentor, and oversee a team of other business development, proposal, and sales professionals in taking the BVGS products to market. The Sales Director is expected to run the daily sales morning standup and evening recap, the end of week recap, and monthly performance reviews. The Sales Director will track team performance metrics in our CRM tool. The Sales Director will ensure each team member is trained and equipped for success. The Sales Director will oversee team and individual expectations and work with each team member to address performance goals.
The Sales Director will need to be familiar with the entire sales cycle and comfortable presenting cyber and supply chain information to senior leadership and large audience. We work in a hybrid environment with a partially remote workforce. As a team we aim to meet in the office a minimum of two days per week when not attending other meetings or conferences. A key part of the job is a willingness to travel to events, meetings, conferences, and symposiums to meet customers and build relationships. Candidate is expected to travel as needed to meet sales objectives.
