Sales Representative, Industrial Workforce Development

Summary of job contents

The IWD Sales representative is responsible to identify, promote, and develop relationships with industry accounts for training solutions in the areas of Industrial automation/maintenance, mechatronics, Industry 4.0, and related areas. The IWD Sales representative works directly with potential industrial customers, promoting and presenting the complete training solutions portfolio that could suit the needs of those industries not only to improve productivity but also to show a clear ROI to the employer based on the investment. This role will work closely with Festo Industrial automation sales, Festo IA Distributors, other Festo colleagues and potential customers in the Educational and Industrial markets to promote and implement the training solutions.


Key accountabilities


  • Promote and present skill assessment tools and related training solutions that employers can use to determine and address technical skill gaps within their current workforce.
  • Work with the other Product Development roles within Festo Didactic, to specify, promote and present complete training solutions that can be deployed within industrial customers and their education partners to close these skill gap.
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the Festo Didactic US to identify and understand the market tendencies or disruptions and being able to react to those changes with the suitable Festo solutions
  • Working with sales management and marketing teams, to help develop a complete set of tools to support the promotion and sales of the training solutions.
  • Working closely with sales, throughout Festo Automation and Festo Didactic, to assure that the financial results specified within the business plan are met.
  • Develop and maintain accounts plans and opportunity management.
  • Drive sales of Didactic Training Solutions within the Industrial Sector.
  • Collaborate with the Head of IWD team in Mason, OH

Knowledge and Experience


  • Market knowledge: Must be knowledgeable about the industrial market and understand the competitive differentiators within this market.
  • Technical background: Must have a working knowledge of the technical topics that underly modern industrial manufacturing operations.
  • This person must possess the ability to develop and implement a strategic sales plan, manage sales pipeline, and coordinate sales support activities relative to mission of Festo Didactic.
  • Partnership capability: Must be able to build and develop partnerships with industrial customers, professional organizations, certifying entities and government agencies for the purpose of understanding, aligning and guiding policy and thought leadership within this market.
  • High level customer presentations, market research, coaching and aligning with state and regional educational initiatives.
  • Travel: more than 50%
