Summary of job contents:

A hunter for new business, responsible for complex relationship development with highest value customers, the achievement of sales milestones, often not initially turnover based and the management of relationships with the high potential customers designated to him/her. Taking target customers from low-level-relationships to the point of hand-over to sales farmers, i.e when Festo is the preferred automation partner.


Key accountabilities:

  • Development of necessary levels of knowledge regarding decision makers, decision making processes and requirements of customers to be able to win respect and gain influence at highest management levels.

  • Creation of detailed, mid-range account strategies in agreement with the customer.

  • Build-up and management of account and project teams, including operational management of specialists engaged on customer projects.

  • Identify and implement corrective measures towards derivations in major KPIs.

  • Manage and establish multi-level management contacts between Festo and key account.

  • Drive needed innovation and changes in relevant customer processes (supply chain, products,..)

  • International cooperation

  • Achieve development milestones with designated customers.

  • Ensure satisfactory levels of customer satisfaction with designated customers.

  • Planning of activities necessary to achieve sales objectives.

  • Effective performance of sales meetings with customers to identify needs and gain customer acceptance of Festo product and solutions.

  • Identify and win projects based on excellent automation competence.

  • Responsible to achieve turnover target in a range of 10-100 mio€ p.a. by considering and achieving profitability targets in the same way.

  • Develop and set-up global customer strategy and ensure proper implementation of activities in the team.

  • Define and break down objectives.


Core Dimensions:

  • Manages subordinate supervisors in Sales and/or office staff. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Time Management Skills.

  • Customer Sales Skills, build high level relationships at key customers.

  • Managing without authoirty, indirect responsibilty to help guide teams to achieve sales goals.

Knowledge/skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5-7 years related sales experience and /or training. 2-4 years management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Computer literate

  • English Language

  • Knowledge of fluid power, electronics and electromechanical engineering. Solid understanding of Industrial Automation.

  • Strong Semiconductor industry knowledge is a plus.
