Senior Software Engineer I - Operational Excellence

Samsara is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Operational Excellence team in Core Infra, responsible for developing infrastructure platform for connected operations cloud.

Skills

Experience with infrastructure and platform engineering
Strong coding skills in Python, Ruby, Scala, Java or Go
Knowledge of IaC/Terraform and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes

Responsibilities

Design and develop software and tools for measuring and monitoring service reliability and cost-efficiency
Enhance Infrastructure as Code practices and monitoring with a focus on Terraform development
Lead engineering responsibility for multiple components in a project
Contribute to enhancing on-call and incident response capabilities
Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement in infrastructure architecture and developer-facing capabilities

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
