San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

The Medical Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our healthcare facility, providing exceptional customer service and support. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by facilitating smooth operations and addressing patient needs promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify patient eligibility for appointments and procedures.
Gather and maintain accurate medical records for patient appointments.
Answer phone calls and assist patients with inquiries.
Room patients and prepare them for examinations.
Take vital signs and record patient information accurately.
Process referrals for medical procedures and specialists.
Complete prior authorizations for medications as required.
Collaborate 1:1 with healthcare providers to support patient care.
Cover other providers in the clinic, ensuring continuity of care.
Efficiently manage the total workflow, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and timely.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the practice.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
Completion of a Medical Assistant program (Required)
1 years as a medical assistant (Required)
Previous experience in a medical front and back office or clinic setting is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in basic computer skills and medical software applications.
Bilingual Spanish, strongly preferred
