The Clinical Informaticist is an engaged and active member of the informatics department who supports both clinical and business partners and initiatives, both as a liaison and as an advocate. Through guidance of the Senior CI they support the organization by translating clinical content into clinical applications. The CI is responsible for workflow analysis and change management implementation. They provide technical insight and share knowledge and experience as a certified EHR informaticist. As a clinical content builder, they are responsible for design, build, test and training for clinical applications implementations, optimizations, and maintenance. 


Responsibilites
  • Serves as a liaison between clinical/business partners and the informatics department. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of EHR applications and third-party systems, can articulate functionality and proactively share knowledge with customers, team members and vendors alike. 
  • Participates in the design, build, and testing of clinical application components; as knowledge is gained they share technical expertise amongst informatics department and EHR analysts. 
  • Participates in the optimization of clinical workflow processes; identifies and recommends improvement opportunities and necessary process changes. Collaborates to develop workflow optimizations and implementations of new solutions or functionality. 
  • Participates in various task forces related to EHR applications. 
  • Participates as an active and responsible team member towards successful clinical systems upgrade/change; responsibilities include release note review, user acceptance testing and communication to prepare staff/users for the upgrade/change 
  • Develops system test plans and participates in the integrated testing efforts. Facilitates user acceptance tests of clinical application components. 
  • Gathers and produces project requirements, performs project analysis, translates, and produces functional specifications. 
  • Follows innovation PMO practices to participate in medium to large scale projects supporting informatics road map initiatives. May lead small to medium sized projects as experience is gained 
  • Utilizes EHR knowledge and experience, in partnership with department leadership, to execute strategic initiatives in compliance with vendor agreement. 
  • Contributes to lessons learned for review, analysis, and change management 
  • Coordinates and provides responsive and proactive solution management and issue resolution. 
  • Coordinates system parameters and project designs with the Director of Clinical Informatics, Clinical Directors, Operational leaders, project teams and/or vendors. 
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of job aids, workflow documents, videos and other materials utilized to train and support users 


Requirements
  • Must have an EPIC Certification-(Epic Care Ambulatory preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science or related field
  • Two to Five (2 to 5 ) years of healthcare experience directly supporting an EHR application as an analyst/informaticist .  
  • In lieu of 2 yrs of analyst/informaticist direct support, 2 years of super user/training support is acceptable when coupled with 2 years of direct patient care experience)
  • Understanding of healthcare delivery workflows and processes
  • Understanding of fundamental project management methodology and demonstrated ability to serve as lead for an implementation or project
  • Knowledge of different learning styles, effective teaching methodologies and tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-conferencing systems
  • Understanding of HIPAA Privacy
  • Knowledge of the different methods available to facilitate learning transfer
  • Knowledge of information systems, including office automation and data analysis tools such as MS Office, simulation software, Visio, etc.

  • Healthcare licensure (RN, LVN, RT)     
  • Master's degree
  • Two years of healthcare experience working in a direct patient care area
  • Project Management Experience 
  • Direct experience as an analyst/informaticist supporting an EHR Implementation and/or EHR version upgrade 
  • Valid California Driver’s License, proof of auto liability insurance and clean driving record

If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer generous benefits and retirement plans.
