Job Description

Join our innovative team in Milpitas, United States, as a Technologist in ASIC Development Engineering. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of designing cutting-edge Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) that push the boundaries of technology. We're looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about creating high-performance semiconductor solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement complex ASIC architectures using advanced RTL techniques
  • Develop and optimize SoC subsystems, including CPU complex, DDR, Host, Flash, Debug, Clocks, resets, and Power domains
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of ASIC designs into larger systems
  • Conduct thorough design reviews and provide technical leadership to junior engineers
  • Analyze and resolve complex design issues using innovative problem-solving approaches
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in ASIC development
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and methodologies for ASIC design within the organization
  • Optimize designs for power efficiency, performance, and area utilization
  • Participate in the entire ASIC development lifecycle, from concept to tape-out

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in ASIC RTL design
  • Expert-level proficiency in Verilog/System Verilog
  • Strong knowledge of Power Intent format (UPF) and Timing Constraints (SDC)
  • Extensive experience with SoC subsystems, including CPU complex, DDR, Host, Flash, Debug, Clocks, resets, and Power domains
  • Proven track record of successful ASIC tape-outs

SKILLS:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven approach to design optimization
  • Proficiency in EDA tools for ASIC design and verification
  • Knowledge of ASIC verification methodologies
  • Experience with low-power design techniques and methodologies (preferred)
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces such as HBM, USB, PCIe, and DDR (preferred)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or TCL for design automation (preferred)
  • Experience with AI-driven tools for ASIC design (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Sandisk's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
