QA Lead

This is more of a functional role with strong domain expertise.

Position Overview: We are looking for a Lead Quality Engineer with expertise in software testing and strong communication skills to join our Boston team. The role involves ensuring our Portfolio Analysis and Management Platform meets high-quality standards, verifying functionality, and identifying improvement areas throughout the development lifecycle

Key Responsibilities:

• Automated Test Suite Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive automated test suite for the Portfolio Management Platform, ensuring coverage of all critical data and UI components.
• Test Case Development: Translate business requirements into detailed test cases and automate these test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Defect Analysis: Analyze defects, determine root causes, and document findings for developers to address.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve the quality of the system throughout the development lifecycle. Ensure there are no gaps in the coverage of automated test cases, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, data, UI, and business analysis teams to ensure seamless integration and communication. This role requires onsite presence in the Boston office.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test plans, test results, and defect reports.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in testing processes and quality standards.
• Technical Expertise: Possess strong technical skills in software testing, bug tracking, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Offshore Coordination: Communicate closely with offshore QA resources to direct their work and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Problem-Solving: Analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.

Essential Skills:

• Onsite Presence: Must be available to work onsite in the Boston office.
• Software Testing: Expertise in various testing methodologies (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, system testing).
• Test Automation: Ability to develop and execute automated tests.
• Technical Skills: Strong QE technical skills are required for this role:
• Expertise on QE tools Selenium, Karate, and Gatling are must for this role. Knowledge of Cucumber is a plus.
• Python knowledge is helpful in this role. 
• Expertise in JIRA is a must in this role.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Jenkins, and JIRA is necessary. 
• Comfortable with application logs, and basic SQL/Database knowledge is helpful. 
• Experience with AWS cloud services for Logs, and system health is important.
• Bug Tracking: Proficiency in using bug tracking tools to manage and track defects.
• Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Must Have:

• Candidate should have atleast 3 years of experience as a lead.
• Candidate should have experience in creating testing strategy (functional, nonfunctional tests, automation approach) and coordinating with senior stakeholders for delivery of the test plan.
• Candidate should have atleast 4 years of experience in functional testing.
• Candidate should have good communication skills, committed and passionate to drive their tasks independently.
• Should have good understanding of capital markets concepts Stocks, Bonds, Futures
• Should have good understanding of trading lifecycle.
• Candidate should be well versed in Python.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in working in Front or Middle office of an Asset management firm. 
• Automation experience in technologies such as Selenium, Cucumber or Karate Framework.
