Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and reporting and analytics systems. Our tech stack includes dbt, Redshift, Airflow, Looker, Fivetran, Avro, S3, and  Kinesis Data Streams.

Your mission:

  • Data Pipeline Development. Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Fivetran for data ingestion and dbt for transforming data within Redshift.

  • Data Integration & Transfer. Develop and manage data integration workflows with Kinesis Data Streams, ensuring efficient and reliable data transfer across systems.

  • Data Warehousing. Build and maintain high-performance, reliable, and scalable data warehousing solutions in Redshift, utilizing Redshift Spectrum for S3 data access and Data Sharing for secure cross-account data sharing.

  • Data Modeling & Schema Design. Create and manage data models and schemas using dbt to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needs.

  • Reporting & Analytics Solutions. Develop and maintain reporting and analytics systems in Looker to enable intuitive data exploration and visualization.

  • Database Performance Optimization. Monitor and optimize Redshift database performance, ensuring data is accessible and delivered accurately and on time.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Collaborate with business teams to understand their requirements and translate them into effective data engineering solutions.

  • Data Security & Compliance. Implement and maintain robust data security and privacy measures to ensure compliance and protect data integrity.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing. Document data engineering workflows and solutions to support knowledge sharing and facilitate the onboarding of new team members.

Your ideal profile:

  • Relevant education and technical background. You have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience, ideally in data warehousing solutions. (Seniority will be assessed during the selection process.)

  • Programming Expertise. You are highly skilled in SQL and have experience with Python, Java, or Scala.

  • Architectural Knowledge. You are familiar with both batch and streaming data architectures.

  • Data-Oriented Mindset. You have a strong passion for understanding data—its meaning, how to prepare it correctly, and how to ensure its quality and consistency.

  • Structured communication and stakeholder management. You communicate clearly and persuasively, adapting your approach to build trust and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Language proficiency. You are fluent in Italian and English.

  • Passion for FinTech or Startup environments. You are passionate about the FinTech or startup ecosystem
