The role:
Our Standards Alignment Contributors bring a wide variety of experience to the table, but they are all united by their passion for improving the lives of teachers and students and their commitment to developing engaging, student-centered, and culturally responsive resources. To achieve this, Standards Alignment Contributors are responsible for:
- Working with the content team to correlate and map outgoing standard sets to new updated standards to ensure Newsela content remains aligned to current standards
- Working with our content team to tag newly created content with appropriate state and national standards, as well as retroactively updating our archive of existing content with aligned standards
- Ensuring all content is accurately and appropriately tagged to state and national standards based on Newsela quality bars for standards alignment
Why you're a great fit:
- Experience in education, as an educator, within public education or education technology
- Prerequisite knowledge of subject-specific content in Science
- Experience outside of classroom in curricular and assessment work, including standards alignment and assessment design
- Key understanding of state standards formats
- Ability to recognize content concepts and tag standards accordingly
- Current or former teaching experience preferred
