Network Infrastructure Technician

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The Network Infrastructure Technician will manage, troubleshoot, and correct incidents and problems associated with customer site equipment, including national and international systems. This includes all associated edge/core site equipment and cabled infrastructures.• Provides support, as required to install, activate, and/or transition networking eqipment such as network switches, routers, and encryption devices• Assists engineering staff members in design, fabrication, integration and testing of electronic circuits, cables, and mounting equipment in support of field upgrades and installations• Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment.• Provides technical support to customers and deployed teams on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment• Develops SOVT test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment as needed. May support engineering tests and detailed experimental testing• Conducts Site Survey's and support the development of installation packages as needed in support of JWICS upgrade efforts• Installs, Program and Troubleshoot Type 1 Bulk encryptors such as KG-175G's, Deltas and Alphas, Raytheon KG-345/350's• Have a valid Passport and willing to do short duration travel for up to 50% of the entire year (nonconsecutive)Requirements:MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or relative field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree• Mininimum of 8 years experience conducting onsite installations at DOD facilities• Cisco Cetified Network Associate (CCNA)• CompTIA Security +• Must be in compliance with DoD 8570• Vaild passportDESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:• Extensive knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling to include installation, termination, and maintenance of RG-59, Single-Mode Fiber (SMF), Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) and Shield Twisted Pair (STP)• Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and affiliated hardware• BICSI Installer CertificationsSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVELABOUT USScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
