Senior Learning Experience Designer (Remote)

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Senior Learning Experience Designer, responsible for crafting engaging, innovative, and effective learning experiences that align with our strategic business goals. This role will create interactive and collaborative programs, utilizing diverse learning modalities, and incorporating cutting-edge instructional design and technology to enhance the learner's experience across the organization.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Conduct analyses to identify the root of training needs.

  • Apply instructional design and cutting-edge development principles to produce engaging and innovative learning programs to drive achievement of company objectives, and our values-based culture.

  • Design and develop microlearning modules, digital badging systems, interactive simulations, and team-based learning activities.

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand learning objectives and desired outcomes.

  • Establish strong partnerships and interactions with management, peers, functional technical leads, company SMEs, and other stakeholders.

  • Gain the cooperation of others as needed

  • Manage the on-time and quality correct delivery of your scope of training, including successful fulfillment of activities involved in the planning, design, development, implementation, delivery, maintenance, and innovation of training and development programs.

  • Work with Lead Spec, Learning and Development and or SME's to identify target audiences training needs and develop plans to meet these needs.

  • Create assessments and support measurement strategy.

  • Lead working teams, and work groups to enable the successful delivery of targeted outcomes.

  • Proactively monitor all phases of work and identify issues quickly, develop and execute solutions.

  • Facilitate, deliver, and provide training and/or presentations as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred

  • Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Instructional Design Expert: Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies

  • Advanced Program Management skills: Able to manage multiple projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery

  • Advanced Technology Proficiency: Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and multimedia elements

  • Interactive Content Development:  Able to create simulations, interactive videos, and engaging multimedia content

  • Advanced Collaboration and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

  • Proven track record in developing interactive and innovative learning solutions, and demonstrated success in collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Strong project management skills to lead and coordinate multiple learning initiatives

  • Expertise in microlearning and crafting short, impactful learning modules

  • Ability to design and implement digital badging and certification programs

  • Proficient in creating interactive simulations and team-based learning challenges

  • Advanced proficiency in various e-learning tools and multimedia design software

  • Strong understanding of performance improvement and leadership development
