As a Scrum Master, you are a coach for different scrum teams (including sprint reviews and planning). You will be responsible for tracking and overseeing milestones on key projects, holding daily stand-up meetings, and collaborating closely with the Engineering, Data, and Product teams. You will be collaborating with both junior and more experienced Scrum Masters.
Being a strong communicator, empathic, and humble are key attributes of a successful candidate in this role. You can see problems from multiple perspectives and are able to remove roadblocks quickly and effectively.
Responsibilities
Organizational Development
- Collaborate with Product Owner on effective techniques for defining Product goals and backlog management
- Facilitate Scrum events as needed for team; remove barriers to their work and foster stakeholder communication and collaboration
- Advocate for and uphold the Agile principles and Scrum Values
- Participate in and lead committees and working groups to define and set goals related to process improvements across Technology
- Where needed, support Agile processes at scale for larger initiatives
Systems & Communication
- In collaboration with Product Owner, provide regular updates to organizational leadership teams on status, risks, and accomplishments
- Continuously identify and implement areas of process improvement for individual teams through servant leadership
•Support Technology-wide process improvement initiatives and drive change management within Scrum teams to align to guidelines and •standards
Team Culture:
- Participate as an active member of the Process Enablement Team
- Engage in all team meetings
- Model the core values at a sophisticated level
- Embody servant leader mindset within team
Functional Expertise
- Scrum Master for 2 teams
- Coach the team members in self-management and scrum standard methodologies
- Escalate blockers and dependencies to support continuous progress of the Scrum team(s)
Requirements
- 1+ years’ proven experience in an Agile environment in a similar role
- Experience managing projects & documentation in Jira & Confluence (or similar project management tool)
- Familiarity with Microsoft O365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Comfort level working cross-functionally and with technical teams
- Servant leader mentality and approach to delivering value for teams
- Relentless business and customer value focus driven by incremental delivery
- Transparent communicator who is honest, authentic and collaborative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation experience
Nice to haves:
- Experience with OpsGenie, StatusPage
- Scrum Master certification (PSM preferred)
