Scrum Master

Reporting into the Head of Software, the Scrum Master will be responsible for the overall team project management to facilitate the successful delivery of food robotic products. The Scrum Master will use their experience of Agile project management to lead the software team to a successful project outcome, including timelines, resources and communication between teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but will not limited to:

Ensure projects are delivered on time and to an agreed level of functionality and quality by both overseeing projects and giving a ‘hands on’ approach as appropriate.

• Leading daily standup meetings, reviews, demonstrations and other project-related meetings.
• Supporting team members in their tasks and to understand and optimise timelines, resource requirements and specification.
• Coaching. Mentoring and training teams on all aspects of Agile principles and best practices.
• Estimating and scheduling tasks to keep the project on schedule as well as reflecting those on internal project management tools.
• Regular verbal and written status updates to internal teams and company leadership
• Identify and resolve resource conflicts that arise.
• Work within an overall programme framework to ensure delivery of Karakuri projects is aligned to business objectives.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement of project management processes and practices.
• Work collaboratively and proactively across the team to ensure smooth running of project teams, joint problem solving of issues where appropriate.
• Maximising engagement of the project team, throughout the project.

Requirements

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in a Scrum Master or Agile Team Coach role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
• Experience of using agile tools and techniques to help teams deliver value
• Strong understanding of common IoT software stacks
• Flexible Agile approach-able to plan and effectively manage through periods of change
• Big picture’ thinker with excellent planning and organisational skills
• Able to translate plans and make them happen operationally, communicating them and engaging the whole team, developing ownership and accountability.
• Evidence of effectively managing, engaging, building and nurturing high performing project teams
• Strong organisation, communicant and motivational skills
• Working in an early-stage product development or start-up environment would be beneficial
• Proficiency with project management tools

Knowledge and Understanding

• Proficient in specific technical skills related to Agile management and software development.
• Good understanding of modern Agile development practices and how these can be effectively applied to a wide technology set.
• Strong understanding of the product life cycle and the different challenges.

Qualifications and Training

• Computer science or business administration related degree
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
• Project Management qualification (PMP / PRINCE II) (Desirable)
