Common Ground USA

Informed by lessons learned as the world’s largest and oldest peacebuilding organization, Common Ground-USA (CG-USA) is a bold initiative of Search for Common Ground (Search) building the conditions for a more inclusive, equitable, and peaceful society. We envision an America where we engage in collaboration across differences to address our greatest challenges, and where we can all belong and thrive. About the Project


The objective of this project is to significantly enhance CG-USA’s social media presence through a well-crafted strategy that aligns with our brand identity and organizational goals. The social media associate will be tasked with developing and executing a comprehensive social media plan, which includes creating a detailed content calendar, generating engaging content, and managing interactions across various platforms using tools such as Canva, Later, Buffer, etc. Success in this role will be measured by increased brand visibility, higher engagement rates, and effective campaign management. The associate will also monitor performance metrics and provide insights to continuously refine our social media strategy.


Background to the request for technical support


CG-USA requires technical support to optimize our social media operations and elevate our digital marketing efforts. This request is driven by the need for specialized expertise to develop and execute a robust social media strategy that meets our organizational objectives. The support will facilitate the creation of high-quality content, efficient management of multiple social media platforms, and effective use of analytics tools to track performance. By integrating these elements, we aim to boost engagement, enhance brand visibility, and align social media activities with our broader marketing goals.


Objectives of the assignment
  • Craft and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the company's brand identity, goals, and target audience.
  • Plan and develop social media campaigns with the marketing department exclusively for cg-USA, and create a social media calendar.
  • Craft compelling content or coordinate its development, and post it across various social media accounts.
  • Engage with customers and followers on different channels, using tools like Buffer or Hootsuite to streamline efforts.
  • Monitor campaigns, analyze data, and track SEO and web traffic metrics to measure performance.
  • Stay updated on the latest social media trends and manage multiple social media platforms effectively.
  • Create graphics for social media posts

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media activities with brLeverage social media management tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, or others to streamline and optimize social media operations.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management of multiple social media platforms.

Expert profile
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Relevant Certifications in social media marketing, digital marketing, or related areas are a plus (e.g., HubSpot Social Media Certification, Google Analytics Certification).
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on the latest trends and best practices in social media and digital marketing.


Criteria


Proven Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement and achieve business objectives.

Content Creation and Curation
  • Strong ability to create engaging, high-quality content tailored to different social media platforms.
  • Experience with multimedia content creation, including graphics, videos, and infographics.

Analytical Skills
  • Proficiency in using social media analytics tools (e.g.Hootsuite, Buffer) to track performance metrics and generate reports.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, derive insights, and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.

Platform Expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) and their best practices.
  • Experience with paid social media advertising and campaign management.


Duration of the assignment
  • Full Days of work anticipated 120 over the course of 6 months.
