The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is seeking a Seasonal Verification Associate, to join their American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) department. The Seasonal Verification Associate is charged with performing an in-depth evaluation of applicant information contained in our database against various types of supporting documentation.
The Verification department is a quality and production-based unit that requires a professional with high attention to detail who can quickly grasp the knowledge of documented procedures to assure applicants meet the AMCAS application requirements. This position requires the ability to prioritize tasks to achieve production goals, adhere to deadlines and work well in a team environment.
We are looking for detailed oriented Seasonal Verification Associate to help during the medical school application and admission cycle. This is a seasonal position from May through December with the potential to collaborate with other departments.
How will you make an impact?
Maintain thorough knowledge of AMCAS policies and procedures.
Perform in-depth evaluation of applicant information contained in application against various types of supporting documentation.
Maintain production/quality scores under rigorous deadlines.
Research and resolve inquiries relating to verification process.
Contact colleges and university registrars regarding interpretation of applicant information.
Research undergraduate and graduate grading and credit systems, transcript symbols and resolution of processing issues.
Maintain AMCAS databases of college and university institution information ensuring that accurate information is present at all times for the verification process.
Perform quality assurance on scanned documents according to established quality assurance standards.
Perform the verification related activities associated with the processing of AMCAS applications.
Perform Proof Reading on documents.
Participate and lead delegated projects.
Maintain applicant confidentiality and information security.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What will you bring to the role?
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Prior work experience in a customer-centered database environment
Experience in school or college student records office desirable
2-4 years' experience working with verifying data in fast-paced, high volume, deadline oriented environment desirable.
Demonstrate problem analysis and attention to detail.
Adheres to rigorous schedules in a quality and production based environment.
Excellent organizational, and time-management skills
Proofreading experience with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks during strict deadlines.
Ability to work independently to achieve production and service goals, to interact and communicate well with units, applicants and registrar’s offices.
Requires skill in MS Office, Windows.

If a bachelor’s degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
