GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:
The Security Coordinator will assist the Associate Security Manager of Manpower and Logistics in implementing the day-to-day operational security requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills; be a critical thinker, be extremely organized, possess good writing skills, and be able to balance multiple tasks with competing priorities efficiently, professionally; and work under minimal supervision as well as part of a team. The Security Coordinator must exercise good judgment, decision making, build strong relationships, and trust among Security Department colleagues, Museum leadership, departmental staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES & DUTIES:
  • Responsible for Security coverage based on daily operational staffing levels by assigning personnel to specific sections of the Museum.
  • Utilize new technology and scheduling platforms for running daily payroll reports, scheduling time off (Annual leave, holidays, trainings), schedule changes, and inputting time and attendance data (Sick, holiday, annual, etc..) for Security personnel in the WorkDay System.
  • Prepare all materials for supervisors and security personnel to keep them up-to-date on policies and procedures.
  • Alott overtime for daily manpower shortages, security escorts, early starts, special events, and gallery closures.
  • Responsible for payroll submission with audits and corrections.
  • Serve as the liaison to other Museum departments and work with Human Resources and Benefits department to comply with NYS FMLA, NYSQ, PLF, and LOA payment laws.
  • Properly maintain and update all Security personnel records.
  • Coordinate the daily needs of security escorts and contractors throughout the building.
  • Paycheck inquiries and distribution.
  • Responsible for understanding and applying union contract rules and protocols to assist with all union inquiries.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with limited supervision.
  • Any duties as assigned by the Security Manager or Associate Security Manager of Manpower and Logistics.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding of staffing of personnel and distribution on the floor
  • Institutional understanding of frontline operations at a museum or other cultural institution
  • Knowledge of Workday and interest in learning Payroll and timekeeping procedures
  • Strong attention to details
  • Experience with union contracts (Preferred but not required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Exemplary attendance and punctuality
  • Good judgment, clear decision making, appropriate initiative, and professional conduct
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate self-control under difficult circumstances
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
  • Committed, Reliable and trustworthy
  • Experience working with scheduling and Logistics
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, and holidays.
COMPENSATION RATE:
  • Pay Rate : $ 31.90 / Hourly
  • The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
