About the Role

As a security intern, you will work closely with leading experts in the fields of security design, offensive security, security automation, and security monitoring. Your work will intersect with all parts of Nuro's business, which covers machine learning, robotics, software, and cloud infrastructure.

About the Work

Depending on your skill sets and areas of interest, you will work on some or all of the following:

• Engineering & Design: Design and develop engineering protections for Nuro's infrastructure and/or Nuro's robots.
• Offensive Security Test & Evaluation: Conduct attacks on Nuro's Systems and remediate security issues.
• Detection & Response: Detect, identify, respond to, and recover from attacks on Nuro's Systems.

About You

• You are a current BS or MS candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field graduating December 2023 or later
• You have experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Embedded security concepts like secure boot, secure storage, secure key storage, and firmware signing
  • Automating security checks in CI/CD
  • Implementing security controls in cloud environments
  • Software or hardware development experience
  • Implementing security logging/monitoring via a SIEM
  • Security testing and assessments to include penetration testing, source code reviews, or exploit development
  • You have strong problem solving and programming skills.

For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $11,500 and $14,000/month. Your actual base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills.
