Your Role:

The Security Engineer V will lead or participate in computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events. They will conduct technical investigations of security related incidents and post-incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies. The Security Engineer V provides security consulting on medium sized projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards. The Security Engineer will Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security.

Your Work:

The Security Engineer V’s responsibilities involve Cloud Security Posture Management and Cloud Data Protection, including:

  • Leveraging your deep expertise writing scripts, API queries to implement new policies in AWS Security Hub, Macie, Inspector, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Qualys FIM, Vault.
  • Provide professional expertise relating to Endpoint Security and Data Protection.

What would make us excited about you?

  • 3+ years experience in cloud computing, security operations, configuration management (ansible, terraform) or related field.
  • Expertise in AWS security management, best practices, and tools (IAM, Guardrails, SPCs, GuardDuty, SecurityHub, WAF, SSO, etc.).
  • Expertise in general network infrastructure and security, specifically ports, protocols, services and how they impact security.
  • High level of proficiency in common security tools (Splunk, SAST, SCA, Okta, etc.).
  • High level of proficiency in Linux system administration and security.
  • Proficient in a scripting language such as Python and bash.
  • Proficient with code versioning tools (Git).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies, especially Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with defense in depth, zero trust architecture and related security strategies.
  • AWS certification (any) is a big plus.
  • 4-year college degree (technical or quantitative science) (preferred) or equivalent work experience with evidence of proficiency and achievement in virtual infrastructure management.
  • Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.
  • Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., supporting employee resource groups, mentoring employees, volunteering, joining cross-functional projects)
  • Champions our cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.)
  • Demonstrates a company ownership mindset, thinking beyond boundaries of their own area
  • Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings
  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc.

The national average salary range for this position is $134,820-149,800However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $121,320-179,800. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.
