PURPOSE: To provide the overall safety and security of our employees, guests and facilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

• Responsible for patrolling the building and grounds
• Monitor all persons entering and exiting the premises; and checking for proper identification
• Constant monitoring of all radio communications
• Monitor various alarm systems and emergency situations; dispatch proper personnel and equipment
• Monitor vehicle access in and out of the truck gate, verify manifest and inspect vehicles
• Maintain various security logs
• Radio dispatch interplant communications to inspectors, material handlers, tow motors, etc.
• Direct and monitor all railroad traffic in and out of the facility to ensure safety of all employees Issue temporary I.D. badges, bulk laundry, keys and lockers
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager Irregular work schedule required
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have successfully completed the State of Ohio approved minimum 205 hours of Ohio Private Police training or be willing to complete the training at own expense within a Company approved time period
• Associates degree in Criminal Justice or three years previous experience with a security agency or police department
• Must meet standards expected of law enforcement officers (civil or military)
• Excellent organizational skills required
• Highly motivated, quick learning, quality conscious and have the initiative to take ownership
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Very alert and ability to act calmly and decisively under stressful conditions
• Ability to work well with people in all areas and levels of the company
• Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends as required
• Excellent attendance and “on time” record required
