Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. We Require
A high school diploma or GED equivalent
Two years of professional experience performing securing duties in a security, criminal justice, law enforcement, military police, or corrections environment
Experience carrying a firearm and prepared to respond with lethal force in the line of duty
Valid Arizona driver's license required upon hire
We Also Value
A certification from DPS or other licensed agencies in firearms safety instruction or use of other non-lethal weaponry
Two years of experience carrying a firearm while performing professional securing duties
Job Contributions
Recognize and respond to workplace violence and performs physical (facility) security assessments
Provide executive protection to Maricopa County Board Supervisors and Officials at public meetings and special events
Direct the security command center operations, including monitoring CCTV, multiple access control systems, and digital alarm receivers – fire, burglar, and 911 computer systems
Patrol Maricopa County property by answering alarms, investigating disturbances, and taking charge in potentially threatening situations requiring the use of physical restraints and approved levels of force
Enforce parking regulations by issuing tickets, booting vehicles, and controlling traffic
Working Conditions
Ability to work night shift position
Must possess or have the ability to obtain, within 120 days of hire, a concealed weapons permit (CCW)
Must possess or have the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire CPR, AED, and first-aid certification
Work in an armed capacity, including wearing a gun belt, body armor, or other required or issued equipment as authorized
Run for short periods, walk continuously for one hour, climb stairs, operate vehicles, operate mechanical equipment, remain standing for a period of up to three hours, sit for extended periods, and utilize department-issued or approved lethal or non-lethal weaponry (including the physical restraint of unauthorized or threatening persons)
Lift or carry up to 50 pounds
