This intermediate level position installs, maintains and supports all company access control, fire and burglar systems, and video surveillance equipment both on campus and in the field in order to meet corporate security goals.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs all security systems, including all moves, additions, and changes to the commercial systems
- Administers and supports the access control, fire and burglar systems, and video surveillance equipment both on campus and in the field
- Acts as a primary contact for physical security system emergency issues
- Assists with the implementation of technology solutions aligned with Corporate Security goals and objectives
- Ensures timely responses to security, telecommunications, and IT teams regarding issues or questions about installations
- Tracks, reports and resolves all alarm notifications
- Assists in the planning of physical security systems and service requirements for the company
- Researches and evaluates new security technology
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology encompassing all physical security products
- Safety sensitive designation requiring initial background drug & alcohol screening as well as random testing
- Required to learn functions of Chesapeake’s Operation Center (COC) and periodically (approx. every nine weeks) cover the COC’s after-hours on call duties
- Maintain and monitor equipment inventory levels as well as allocating cost to appropriate cost center(s)
- Assist other areas of Corporate Security as needed
Job Specific Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of and related work experience with security systems
- Ability to travel as necessary and to drive long distances
- Understands and can discuss job techniques, terminology, concepts, principles and issues related to the job
- Ability to perform assigned job tasks with little oversight required
- Ability to work flexible hours and to be on call, including nights and weekends
Education
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - IT, MIS, Computer Science or related field
Experience
- Minimum: 2 - 5 years related work experience
- Preferred: 5 years + experience with commercial security systems, including access control, CCTV, burglar and fire alarm systems
