Segment Product Manager, Dental Labs

Segment Product Manager, Dental Labs

Our product managers own either a customer segment or a functional area (hardware, software, or materials). Segment PMs are the company’s experts on their customers and the market they inhabit. As Dental Lab Segment Product Manager, you’ll define and own the segment strategy and segment product roadmap for Carbon’s place in the dental lab industry. Based on your deep customer knowledge, you’ll set strategy and help inform product priorities and tradeoffs to create the best outcome for Carbon’s customers and our business. You will be joining a team with a vibrant culture that is deeply collaborative: product managers work with our entire team to bring product concepts to life.

Responsibilities:
Together with others at Carbon who work in the Dental Lab space, help create Carbon’s strategy and product vision for our Dental segment. Identify current and future customer needs, and work with our hardware, software, and materials product managers and teams to prioritize, evaluate, and address those needs with innovative and differentiated products

Collect and summarize customer insights and requests through interviews, surveys & data analysis; lead or help with relevant customer beta tests and feedback gathering exercises; draw insights from usage patterns

Partner with functional PMs to build and present business cases for significant new products that will serve your segment across hardware, software and materials

Bring deep segment customer expertise to functional PMs and technical teams to help create product requirement documents with prioritized features and justifications

Work closely with product marketing, sales, and service and support teams to ensure smooth and informed product launches with relevant language and key messaging

Work within Carbon to help develop and refine forecasts, pricing, and financial models related to your segment

Build cross functional relationships and manage complex, cross-functional projects and communication related to our Dental customers and Carbon’s strategy in the industry


Preferred Skills

    • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new disciplines quickly
    • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably on multiple projects and to balance competing priorities
    • Experience preferable in at least two of the following:
    • 3D printing technology
    • The dental lab industry
    • Product management
    • Open mindedness and curiosity when interviewing customers and industry experts
    • Comfort using and balancing data of different types (qualitative insights, quantitative analyses, market sizing, etc.) to drive strategy and product definition
    • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills; proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
    • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to motivate a team towards a shared vision
