SEND Recruitment Consultant – Education

Office based, Leeds - LS1 4PR

Salary - £25,000 - £37,000 (dependent on experience)


Do you have a strong sales background and looking to step into recruitment? Are you ambitious, confident, self-motivated, and willing to work hard for impressive results? TeacherActive is looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join our team in Leeds, working with SEND schools.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our passionate, vibrant, and highly experienced team of Recruitment Consultants. We have an extensive client list which is continuously growing and TeacherActive are well known as a market leader within the Education sector. You would focus on filling temporary and permanent positions to provide excellent day to day and supply staff for our SEND schools.

The role of a Recruitment Consultant:

  • Business development, contacting new and existing clients to generate new opportunities
  • Working with clients, identifying their needs and requirements to fill their vacancies
  • Attending client meetings/school visits
  • Shortlisting CVs, screening applicants over the phone and interviewing/registering them
  • Filling vacancies within an agreed time scale
  • Building a pipeline of candidates such as Teachers and Teaching Assistants to ensure you can react quickly to your client's needs
  • Maintain regular contact with your candidates and clients, building excellent relationships
  • Keeping up-to-date with news and changes to legislation in the education industry
  • Reviewing your performance to continually improve

This is by no means a complete list; you need to be adaptable in recruitment as your day plan can change at a drop of a hat. Its exciting, fast paced and requires somebody with a lot of resilience, passion, and energy.

This is a sales role, and you will work towards activity and revenue targets. However, we offer realistic achievable targets and will offer you the right training and support in order to aid you in achieving them. We offer an uncapped commission with no threshold so you can reap the rewards of your hard work.

Key skills required:

  • Previous sales experience or having worked in a target and KPI focused role
  • Drive, determination and motivation
  • Working towards targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Confident, positive and resilient personality
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport
  • Ability to build relationships

Working hours:

  • Term time - 07:30am start finish at 4:30pm x2, 5pm x2, 5:30pm x1
  • Reduced hours in school holidays - 8:30-4pm approx
  • Office Based full time
