The application support Analyst needs to be highly motivated and comfortable working in a high tempo environment. Must demonstrate ability to resolve multiple parallel issues routinely and prioritise workloads.
Investigate issues, develop fixes and perform general maintenance and administration. Other tasks include adding new system functionality through enhancements and performance.
Good communication skills are essential with the ability to engage stakeholders and overcome barriers to progress and extract issue resolutions. Out of hours support overnight and at weekends (part of an on-call rota) is frequently needed.
Strong business knowledge is beneficial for working with business teams during investigations. Whilst full scale coding and technical development isn’t expected minor code changes and testing will be required. This role will also involve some mentoring of offshore staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support of a critical element of the London financial infrastructure.
- An essential member of the application support team responsible for proactively monitoring, guarding and improving all aspects of the live production environment.
- Provide project environment support through key stages of the software lifecycle.
- Noticing anomalies in a running system before they become incidents
- Design and develop solutions for application bugs and system enhancements.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education:
-
Degree educated, preferably in a technical computing discipline
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
-
Experience in an investment banking environment and IT Support function
-
DevOps experience preferable
-
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
-
Must be used to high pressure banking environments working to tight deadlines
-
Ability to communicate to stakeholders such as IT and business teams, senior management
-
Experience of the Murex (3.1) application advantageous
Key Technical Skills:
- Good command of UNIX including shell scripting.
- Software version control (Bitbucket, GIT, any other)
- CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or CloudBees
- Preferable to have AWS Cloud experience (RDS, EC2, Autoscaling, VPC, S3 Buckets)
- Good Experience supporting Java based application and services.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle databases including scripting and preferably performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Financial products and trade lifecycle.
- Understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies
- Python, Ansible, Terraform experience advantageous
- Postgres and Snowflake database experience advantageous
Compensation/Benefits Information (New York City applicants only):
LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $95,100 - $176,700.
Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our annual incentive (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience. All roles are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG benefit program, more information & details will be provided at time of offer.
