The Department: Risk

Protection - for our clients and our company - forms the linchpin of our business at Gemini. Our Risk department plays a critical role in proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing the firm’s exposure, both internally and externally. Leveraging data, engineering, and intellectual horsepower, our Risk team is building a robust second line of defense in a first-of-its kind industry; our goal: safeguard Gemini so that we can continue to revolutionize the future of money

 The Role: Sr. Associate, Third Party and Vendor Risk 

The Risk department is looking for a strong Vendor Risk Manager who will lead the effort to develop, refine, and mature Gemini’s existing Vendor Risk Management program and practices. You'll be responsible for overseeing the Supplier and Vendor Risk function, including a review and redesign of all associated processes including Supplier Due Diligence, Onboarding, Optimization, and Scalability. You'll also be partnering closely with Supplier Relations, Legal, Security, Compliance, and Technology to ensure compliance and collaborate on new initiatives.

In this role you will have the opportunity to redesign the Vendor Risk Management framework and procedures, helping to strike a healthy/efficient balance between process and innovation. Gemini will be looking for an individual who can think creatively to marry the world of traditional VRM practices/procedures with a modern and innovative twist to remove inefficiencies and nonvalue added activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform ongoing evaluation People, Process, and Technology to ensure optimization and scalability of the function.
• Manage a formal Vendor Risk Assessment Framework overseeing on-boarding, monitoring service/quality, issue resolution, termination, off-boarding, etc.)
• Develop KPIs, Metrics, Scorecarding, and Reporting to monitor the health of our Vendor Risk Program.
• Execute ongoing management of Gemini’s Vendor-Risk Portal and Help Center and carry out training and development of training materials as necessary.
• Support all applicable Gemini entities (including international regions) and streamline Vendor Risk processes / requirements.
• Act as Lead during internal and external audits of our Vendor Management Program and respond to Client/Partner DDQs as necessary.
• Manage Vendor-Risk system including testing, continuous monitoring, optimization, training, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of third party, vendor, and/or supplier risk management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk, Supply Chain, or another related field
• Strong practical and demonstrated knowledge in all phases of Risk Management Framework
• Effective Stakeholder Relationship Management skills including the ability to make and influence critical decisions
• Experience with onboarding and management of Suppliers risk profiles
• Desire to learn and grow with a willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Development and implementation of a Vendor Risk Program in a dynamic startup environment
• Experience working with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and Security teams.
• Experience with use and/or implementation of risk systems and software
