Senior Banner Finance Consultant

Ellucian is seeking an experienced Senior Banner Finance Consultant to join the North American Professional Services team to lead implementations of our integrated administrative solutions for colleges and universities. The Senior Banner Finance Consultant will be instrumental in consulting with our customers and delivering services that provide the quickest path to institutional success with training, onboarding and deployment of Banner financial processes with our higher education customers. The expectations for candidates to fill this role include significant experience in the areas below.
Higher education customers are transforming to modern campuses while leveraging technology and solutions to enable student success. In this mission critical role, you will partner with our customers to help enable their business office including transformation to cloud/SAAS solutions and successful adoption of these solutions.
Where you will make an impact

• Act as a thought leader for and key contributor to our Banner Finance implementations, able to lead and influence client teams at all levels.
• Provide advice and guidance on industry best practices and recommended practices for implementing Banner Finance in the US and abroad, working with leadership and staff in colleges and universities to ensure the Banner Finance solution is implemented & configured to best align to institutional processes and academic and business needs.
• Support customers in making a smooth transition from their existing finance systems or processes, applications, and procedures to Banner Finance processes through implementation efforts and ongoing consulting. Provide change management advice as appropriate.
• Perform and document business process review and analysis of client business requirements. Gather and document business requirements, discuss adoption of Finance recommended practices, and brief the implementation team on requirements.
• Work collaboratively with clients to derive maximum value from the Banner Finance solution, in conjunction with all other Ellucian solutions.
• Collaborate with existing Finance consulting resources to support continuous improvement of the consulting practice: refine delivery and engagement materials, facilitate team-wide or group presentations and knowledge-sharing activities, and participate in other team activities that drive continuous improvement of the delivery of Finance services.
• Take an active role in identifying, communicating, and advancing internal process improvement suggestions/initiatives.
  Participate in Ellucian company-wide cross-departmental initiatives as required.

What you will bring

• At least 3-5 years, preferably more, experience working in field of Finance or Accounting. Role(s) in a Finance or
• Accounting field should have demonstrated deep understanding of Finance and Accounting standards and practices at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States or abroad. Roles with increasing levels of responsibility and oversight are particularly preferred.
• At least 1-2 years, preferably more, experience working in a training or consulting context (assisted in team trainings, system implementation, or other collaborative learning/teaching experience).
• Must have experience with Banner Finance.
• Must have the ability to explain solutions to diverse customers, and ensure they are able to use applications and functionality effectively to accomplish their work.
• This position requires enthusiasm and energy; willingness to learn and adapt quickly; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and previous experience conducting training sessions.
• The successful candidate must be a disciplined self-starter, able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and must be able to meet or exceed deadlines for customer and internal deliverables.
• The successful candidate must also be able to collaborate effectively and willingly and must be an engaged and interactive member of a large and very experienced team.
• Proven ability to use appropriate skills in the areas of: project coordination, multi-tasking, prioritization of demands, conflict management, decision making tools & techniques, group discussion, training, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and time management.
• Demonstrated experience in consulting and/or training and development; system implementation, and requirements gathering is beneficial.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with demonstrably credibility and experience in the subject matter, as well as gravitas to influence senior client stakeholders at client site and industry events.
• Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team.
