Senior Benefits Administrator

SageSure, the insurance first, tech-forward, capital-lite managing general underwriter that focuses on the underserved, preferred homeowners middle-market, is seeking a Senior Benefits Administrator (SBA).

The SBA is a critical member of The People Team, ensuring a positive experience for our employees throughout the United States. This position oversees the SageSure's benefit programs, processes, and systems. This position, reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Manager, is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a set of functions as part of a collaborative team. A successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, provide excellent customer service to our employees, and accurately process claims.

What you'll be doing:

Employee Benefits

  • Administer and manage various employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, retirement plan, COBRA, FSA health/dependent care accounts, and 401(k) plans
  • Anticipate and effectively manage invoicing issues, program changes, vendor contracts, and compliance requirements to ensure program offerings and benefits meets the needs of the organization.
  • Develop and deliver a holistic wellness approach that addresses financial, psychological, nutritional, and physical needs of employees.
  • Administer a paperless, online benefits enrollment program
  • Coordinate and process enrollments and changes
  • Serve as the main point of contact with selected vendors to ensure timely and accurate benefits processing related to eligibility and terminations

Strategy and Reporting

  • Provide market strategies to ensure the organization is both competitive within our industry and consistent within the global benefit strategy.
  • Provide statistical data and analysis for benefit plans such as insurance census data, budget data, open enrollment calculations, etc., prepare reports and feel comfortable presenting them.
  • Administer and track the process for employee leave taking, including FMLA
  • Conduct periodic analysis of benefit costs, administration and design.
  • Achieve organizational objectives, identify best practices and benchmarks and develop recommendations for change.

Compliance

  • Analyze and recommend compliance actions for new and evolving benefit legislation
  • Review/monitor contract compliance and/or administrative analysis of plans (summary plan documents and participant communication)
  • Manage Affordable Care Act requirements and compliance
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting benefit plans and ensure compliance of SageSure's benefit plans, including COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA, ACA and ERISA.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the development, implementation, and administration of benefits programs. Online enrollment and HRIS integration experience is preferred
  • Self-Funding and claims processing experience
  • Human Resources certification through HRCI or SHRM
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist experience
  • Working knowledge of current employment laws
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proper reverence for confidential information and documents
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems. Experience with Kronos, UltiPro, or UKG is preferred

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
