Our Newest Opportunity:
The Senior Benefits Communication Specialist is responsible for supporting our key clients ($150k+ revenue) on development and execution of effective Open Enrollment and year-round communication strategies by creating marketing pieces, presentations, media campaigns etc. to educate our clients’ employees on their benefit plans.
The Senior Benefits Communication Specialist takes on a thought leadership role on the team. Externally, he/she researches and recommends communication modes, tools and vendors that meet the unique needs, demographics, and budget of their clients. He/she implements and executes these communication plans by providing content, materials, and analysis. Internally, he/she supports with training of new and current team members, and in annually updating standard benefit materials, layouts, and templates. He/she participates in regional and national committees and projects as requested.
The Senior Benefits Communications Specialist has an extensive background in Employee Benefit Communication, including but not limited to presentations, collateral materials, Brainshark, Canva, Powtoon, Jellyvision, and employer Health Benefits in general.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Leads internal pre-renewal Open Enrollment Strategy meetings
  • Researches and recommends communication modes, tools and vendors that meet the unique needs, demographics, and budget of their clients
  • Implements and executes communication plans by providing content, materials, and analysis
  • Develop open enrollment timeline
  • Development of collaterals to market employee benefits to employer groups
  • Works closely with various departments to ensure internal data is accurately documented
  • Establish and lead phone calls with clients to review marketing materials
  • Review and train benefits enrollment specialist for clients’ open enrollment
  • Corresponds regularly with clients to understand their culture/brand in order to provide relevant communication materials
  • Leads internal and external year-round engagement strategic, consultative meetings
  • Builds ongoing engagement calendars and content designed to engage their client’s workforce and enhance member wellbeing
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and contributes to achievement of individual and group performance measurements
  • Assists with training of inexperienced and experienced team members
  • Assists with annually revamping and expanding standard benefit materials, layouts, and templates
  • Engages in regional and national committees and projects as they arise
  • Delegates tasks and projects to secondary team member assigned to client, if applicable
  • Attends training opportunities, regularly participates in coursework to continue education on Employee Benefit Communication
  • Uses tools and systems (e.g. PPT, Canva, Brainshark, Powtoon, etc) to enhance the job
  • Keeps desk and work area organized and clean
  • Receives excellent client feedback on the quality and value of their work
  • Maintains a positive can-do attitude
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

Education, Training and Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in health & welfare benefits
  • An earned Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent)
  • An earned Individual Producers License in Health and Life Insurances or obtain within 90 days of employment (first exam attempt must be completed within 60 days of employment)
  • Experience with Canva, Brainshark, Powtoon, Jellyvision, and Adobe
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Proven track record excellent client feedback on the quality and value of their work
  • Experience with reporting and evaluating communication effectiveness
