Overview of Job Function

Verint’s Cloud Network Architect designs, plans, and integrates cloud computing and virtualization systems. This highly technical role actively participates in and contributes expertise to hardware and software selection, cloud service provider selection, implementation techniques, application & data migration techniques and tool identification for the most efficient solutions to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. The Cloud Network Architect will interface with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Support teams to help design and develop reliable, scalable, and cost-effective systems.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

• Setup and maintain Azure and AWS environments, configure networks and security in line with the design
• Perform assessments of Cloud network environments, identify gaps and implement performance improvement opportunities
• Develop global Cloud network strategies for architecture and engineering solutions from concept through implementation
• Analyze and provide recommendations for emerging Cloud network technologies and CSP advancements
• Prepare detailed specifications and documentation
• Plan, research, evaluate, design and develop software-defined networks by applying software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure
• Focus on cost/benefit analysis to determine the financial, operational, and technical feasibility of adopting cloud-based infrastructure services
• Assist in troubleshooting and triaging critical network-related issues and service events
• Build tools to automate operational tasks, streamline deployment processes and provide a platform for other engineering teams to build upon
• Support our “automate everything” approach that makes systems failure-resistant and ready-to-scale
• Play a key role in system design and demonstrate the ability to bring an idea from design all the way to production

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years experience in network and network security infrastructure solutions engineering, implementation, integrations and operations
• 3 years experience technical experience and strong working knowledge of IP Internetworking, LAN Switching, WAN and network security
• 3 years experience working with cloud-based network infrastructures – AWS / Azure / GCP, etc. including AWS Direct Connect and Azure Express Route
• 3 years experience creating infrastructure-as-code; using infrastructure-as-code language, scripting, or programming language (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
• 3 years experience building cross-cloud and cross-region global networking architectures
• 3 years experience building out hybrid and mesh networking solutions
• 3 years experience deploying cloud/sd-wan technologies and strong working knowledge of IP Internetworking, LAN Switching, WAN and network security
• 3 years experience using network segmentation, management, automation and orchestration tools (i.e. Cisco DNA center, Cisco Tetration, Illumio and others)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field or equivalent work experience
• Familiarity with running and scaling distributed software systems (load balancing, high availability, systems monitoring, etc.)
• Ability to work on multiple, competing priorities and to adapt to quickly changing priorities
• Ability and willingness to work off-hours on occasion based on business need

• Border Gateway Protocol and dynamic routing
• Aviatrix
• IDS / IPS, QOS, and also traffic shaping policies and techniques
• Deploying cross-connectivity within colos and data centers
• Deploying IPSec solutions and managing IP ranges and NAT policies
• Cloud connectivity partners, specifically Megaport and Equinix Cloud Exchange
• Deploying, routing, or QoSing telephony traffic
