Senior Copywriter - Marketing Content

Clearing is a digital healthcare platform built to serve the 50M chronic pain sufferers in the United States. In partnership with leading physicians and researchers at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and the Hospital for Special Surgery, and with significant funding from top-tier investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Founders Fund, Breyer Capital, and a host of leading healthcare and consumer entrepreneurs (including the founders of Hims, Seamless Grubhub, Flatiron Health, Forward Health, Curology and more) we are on a mission to provide patients with access to comprehensive, opioid-free pain relief.

Our Senior Copywriter - Marketing Content, will own writing copy for all of our marketing communications. We're looking for someone who looks at every brief as an opportunity to connect with our patients. You are a self-starter but collaborative to the core. You love thinking about how to communicate sophisticated ideas in 25 characters or less. You can flex from punchy headlines to product launch announcements with ease. You think and write consumer-first and have a deep understanding of your audience's point of view. You are passionate about grammar and cannot let a misspelled word or a misplaced apostrophe go–your editing skills are razor sharp. You don't need experience in medical writing or a background in telemedicine, but you are someone who is always excited to dive in and learn. You'll collaborate closely with our marketers, designs, doctors, and legal & compliance team to deliver patient-centric communications. E-commerce and direct response experience is a plus.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop compelling and concise copy across marketing channels (especially email, SMS, landing pages and growth funnels) with a strong focus on direct response and consumer-facing copy
  • Ensure our brand voice is consistent and strong across every user touchpoint and review copy developed across our user experience
  • Leverage insights and data to inform conversion-driving copywriting across a variety of channels
  • Work closely with the Growth Marketing team to infuse brand voice into direct response copy
  • Take sensitive, highly personal, and often taboo/stigmatized subject matters and turn it into messaging that resonates with our patients and potential patients
  • Work with team stakeholders to optimize top-performing copy, but always think outside the box to find the next big win
  • Able to tackle old problems in new ways–bringing fresh ideas on how to get a consumer to take a desired action
  • Coordinate with medical and legal teams to ensure all written content is medically accurate and legally sound and translate your key learnings to the other members of the content team–ensuring consistency across the board

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience working for a growth-stage consumer-focused company
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver projects
  • Comfortable writing across a variety of channels with a particular focus on email/sms, landing pages, search and social media.
  • Must have experience writing copy in house for a direct to consumer brand
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate brand guidelines into a consistent, ownable voice
  • Ability to work quickly, independently, and with some ambiguity
  • An open mindset and eagerness to learn through feedback
  • Optimism, curiosity, kindness and a strong sense of urgency
