PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Senior Data Engineer for its Seattle, WA office. (telecommuting permitted)
Job Duties:
- Utilize Agile development methodologies and traditional waterfall project management to design and build data warehouse objects for insurance company’s enterprise data warehouse.
- Build ETL (extract, transform and load) processes with SQL, SSIS and BIML to incrementally load data; engage in SQL Database Administration and performance tuning; develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Excel.
- Use Erwin data modeling tool to design entity relationship diagrams and customize the company’s purchased Insurance Information Warehouse data model.
- Use BIML Studio to dynamically generate Integration Services packages (SSIS) to transform data from transactional system to Analytical system.
- Use Visual Studio to maintain the codebase and version history.
- Position may include additional duties that use the required skills.
Job Requirments: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field and five years of experience in computer-related occupations or a related field. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will also accept two additional years (for a total of seven years) of experience in a computer-related occupation or a related field. Experience must include:
- Five years of experience utilizing Agile development methodologies and traditional waterfall project management to design and build data warehouse objects for enterprise data warehouse.
- Five years of experience building ETL processes (extract, transform and load) with SQL Development and administration, SSIS (Integration Services), and SSRS (Reporting Services).
- Two years of experience using BIML Studio to dynamically generate Integration Services packages (SSIS) to transform data from transactional system to Analytical system.
- Five years of experience using Erwin data modeling tools to design data warehouse.
- Three years of experience in insurance product design and IBM’s Insurance Information Warehouse (IIW) data model for Auto and Property lines of business.
- Five years of experience using Visual Studio to maintain the codebase and version history.
- Available to telecommute from undetermined location(s).
Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable, as are foreign equivalent degrees.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Wage Range: $173,909 to $198,742

- Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires, and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure
- Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire
- Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.
- Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual
