Senior DevOps Engineer
Overview:
Bayview is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit. The Consumer Lending Fintech is a newly founded business line for direct to consumer lending efforts. The Consumer Lending team aims to improve people’s lives. The team will create innovative solutions that will raise awareness of available financial options and provide products to improve the financial well-being of consumers.
The engineering team in Consumer Lending will play a key role in building the product experience to launch a series of innovative products that will be beneficial for consumers. We will first launch new products/flows for existing customers and then expand to prospects. We are looking for engineers who can operate with a white sheet of paper, ideate, collaborate, build, launch, and iterate on new consumer facing products. As a remote-first Consumer Lending Fintech team, this role can be remote or in an office in New York City, NY or Coral Gables, FL. The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000; however, Bayview considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, location and key skills.

Implement, automate, and maintain a cloud-based (AWS) development platform- Configure monitoring and alerting systems for cloud-based applications
- Work with leadership and be accountable for aligning the team to technical, functional and performance guidelines related to CI/CD pipelines
- Assist with putting together a solid build and release management foundation; shaping our development and release practices
- Ensure systems & processes are documented with high quality and can be easily maintained
- Contribute to business continuity plan for data backup and recovery, including monitoring/alerting and platform uptime and performance metrics
- Automate tasks to drive consistency, reduce complexity, and minimize human involvement wherever possible
- Work as a part of small, productive development team that puts an emphasis on code quality, continuous delivery, peer reviews, and strong engineering practices
- Adhere to the Company’s Compliance Standards
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in setting up a devops environment and CI/CD platform (GitHub Actions or Jenkins preferred) from scratch
- Cloud experience in AWS with emphasis on security, networking, autoscaling and highly available systems
- Experience in containerization and building scalable platforms using Kubernetes, Docker
- Experience with designing, building, and optimizing automation systems that help to execute web and data infrastructure platforms
- Hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Ability to learn new technologies fast and find ways to automate routine tasks
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take “full ownership” of issues until they are completely resolved, and processes put in place to prevent recurrence
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Expertise with latest cloud technologies (AWS preferred) and related tooling
- Expertise with scripting languages (Bash / Python)
- Experience deploying and managing distributed data systems of both NoSQL and SQL varieties
- 4+ years of hands-on engineering and devops experience
