Senior Director, Global People Operations

Role Description


This role will report to the Senior Director, Global People Operations & COE’s and will be responsible for the review, management and continuous improvement of our core payroll, global time and leave, and compliance processes that support the employee life cycle. As we continue to grow rapidly globally at Datadog, this position will help support the definition and harmonization and optimization of our regional payroll, benefits, and harmonizing compliance teams processes, tools, immigration, and policies. You will collaborate internally with cross functional partners to devise initiatives that will focus on harmonization, streamlining and consolidation of our core HR services and delivery. This position plays a critical role in leading global HR initiatives that will help to shape our People Operations processes and programs to be repeatable, agile, and scalable for growth.

 

You will:

  • Lead a team of regional operations Directors and teams responsible for payroll, leave and time tracking, compliance, People process and policies across 26 countries with a team of 28 globally for 2022.
  • Project manage, develop, and execute new entity creation and employee migration from PEO to new entities/subsidiaries globally across all geographies.
  • Own global process mapping, development of core process knowledge, Workday and payroll systems optimization for your scope and co-lead new system and/or policy implementations where needed, working with key internal stakeholders.
  • Come into the role and assess current state in the areas of global process alignment, operational policies, and system utilization, and partner HRIS, our People Service Center, and other core functions as needed.
  • Driving annual benefits renewals globally to enhance employee benefits and continuously stay up to date on best in class practices and offerings, while harmonizing across geographies aligned with our company philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects with well-defined timelines, deliverables and end-to-end project management, resourcing, and escalation management.
  • Streamline documentation, archives, and audits.
  • Evaluate and recommend scalable systems and processes for document retention, audits, and other ongoing needs.
  • Partner with HR Operations regional leaders, HRIS team and IT to align on system enhancement priorities that support global process harmonization.
  • Work closely with our HRIS team to collaborate on projects, stay connected on key priorities and resource initiatives
  • Ensure system processes are well documented, regularly updated and maintain end user training materials.
  • Develop service agreements and standards for internal processes related to global payroll, benefits, and compliance.
  • Stay current with innovative HR practices and informed on what other best-in class companies are doing to improve operations effectiveness as well as local and regional compliance requirements to ensure alignment of operational service delivery and processes.
  • Recognize and respond to emerging trends which will capitalize on innovative transformative opportunities to meet the expectations of internal & external stakeholders.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in global HR roles.
  • At least 5 years expertise in leading HR Operations (payroll, benefits, compliance) and continuous improvement initiatives in a global environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in HR operations.
  • Experience as a manager in Global HR operations, preferably within an HR shared service environment managing cross-functional HR processes.
  • Workday and ADP experience with ability to manage business process flows.
  • Strong HR compliance and audit aptitude.
  • The successful candidate will possess superior change management skills and experience combined with a service expansion/innovation mindset and client service delivery excellence to ensure business needs are met and new processes and policies are successfully and consistently adopted across regions and lines of businesses.
