What You'll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. in San Diego is seeking an experienced engineer to join the team which is responsible for developing the software for next generation mobile platforms.
You will have passion for writing quality code and will be working on the development and optimization of the computer vision and deep learning algorithms.
You will join our teams of experienced engineers and contribute to the definition, prototyping, implementation and future deployment of commercial-level computer vision, machine learning and XR algorithms.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Diego, CA office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

- Profile and optimize image and video processing algorithms.
- Design and development of image processing features on new SOC platforms.
- Working with customers on cutting edge camera solutions based on conventional and neural network-based algorithms.
What You Bring
- Bachelors with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 3+ years or PhD with 0 years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ with experience in developing latency-critical software is a must.
- Proven track record of developing solutions for camera, image/video processing, neural network and computer vision applications.
- Deep knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals with an excellent understanding of the interaction between software and hardware.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with camera ISP and AR/VR technology.
- Experience in development, optimization and parallelization of computer vision algorithms.
- Demonstrated ability to take neural network models from concept to production with in-depth knowledge in Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and Caffe.
- Familiarity with heterogeneous compute programming APIs (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL).
- Experience in commercialization of software solution for mobile environments.

Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training.
