At Ascendum, we are seeking a Senior JS Frontend Engineer with expertise in JavaScript-based mobile development and frontend web development. As part of our dynamic team, you will tackle the evolving challenges presented by our clients and contribute to the creation of performant frontend applications, be they web based frameworks, or React Native. In addition to building and architecting these applications, you will collaborate with other teams responsible for different layers of the product infrastructure. Responsibilities:
(not all-inclusive)

• Interact directly with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, build documentation when needed, and estimate work
• Architect and technically design frontend web (Angular, React), and React Native applications
• Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs.
• Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Reach out to the open-source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Communicate technical concepts and decisions to non-technical project members
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure UI and UX are engaging and achievable within the constraints of the platform
• Work well within an agile team

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6+ years software development experience in web frameworks and React Native
• Firm grasp of the JavaScript and TypeScript languages and their nuances, including ES6+ syntax
• Ability to write well-documented, clean JavaScript code
• Flexibility to move into either frontend web development or React Native mobile development
• Full lifecycle development experience on large projects, creating scalable applications
• Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
• Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio.
• Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
• Experience with automated testing suites
• Curiosity and a desire to learn!
• Experience with Git

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Willingness to work diligently and energetically in a completely unfamiliar tech stack when needed is the biggest plus
• Experience leading development teams.
• Experience in backend development using Node or .Net
• Experience doing full architecture of frontend applications from scratch
• Experience with JIRA
