About the Role
As a Senior HR Business Partner, your primary focus is to support your client group, Valon Technologies. You will play an active part in building out People practices and policies that align with Valon's business objectives and needs. You will execute Valon People Team programs such as performance review cycles, compensation analysis, engagement surveys, and more. You will partner with business leaders to support them through succession planning, re-organizations, complex employee leaves and accommodations, and other daily needs as they arise. You will be an internal coach to People managers and senior leaders across the technology organization.
We are looking for someone who can context-shift between the strategic and the tactical. This is a fast-paced role with a diverse client group. This role requires someone who can execute processes end to end, work cross-functionally, intimately know your client group in order to be a representative of their needs, and give input to Valon-wide People programs.
The role will report into the Head of People.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Valon-specific professional counsel to senior leaders across Valon Technologies (not just HR best practices!)
- Build relationships with those senior leaders to ensure alignment on strategic objectives as Valon grows and scales
- Partner with the business to roll out key People programs (e.g. performance management, compensation, benefits, manager training programs)
- Provide guidance and input on organizational design, succession planning, mobility, leveling, benchmarking, and beyond
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to foster a positive atmosphere
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
- Mentor, coach, and build Valon managers by providing direction, knowledge, and support to create a high-performing organization
- Dive into the high volume of daily operational HR needs across a diverse client group
Ideal Background
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
- PHR or SPHR certified
- In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Proven track record of executing People programs such as performance management, compensation planning, executive coaching, and beyond
- Business acumen and the ability to understand business strategy and goals
- Proven experience influencing senior leaders, knowing how to both manage up and down the corporate structure effectively
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist or HRBP capacity
- Broad familiarity with multiple HR function areas, including compensation, performance management, people systems, and coaching
- Proficient in Google Suite
- Strong attention to detail
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a bias toward action, flexible and adaptable in approach
