We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager with strong people management experience and hands-on development skills to lead our Data Science team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of data scientists, while also working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that contribute to business growth. This role requires a strong analytical & statistical programming background and a real passion for mentoring and growing teams. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to work with other data & engineering leads to promote the adoption of new technologies & methods that help Justworks scale.

What You Will Work On

• Develop and implement a comprehensive roadmap aligned with Justworks strategic priorities and reflective of a deep understanding of Justworks product & customers, and our current capabilities.
• Identify and prioritize data science products that power product experiences, customer interactions and/or business insights through machine learning, predictive modeling, and other data science techniques.
• Unlock cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize value driving data products, impacting the holistic roadmap and ensure alignment with the organization's strategic priorities.
• Develop and maintain best practices for data science product development processes, tools, and methodologies to deliver iteratively, efficiently and with impact.
• Manage and prioritize projects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work
• Coach and grow a team of data scientists through professional development, goal-setting, feedback and recognition

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data science, with hands-on experience developing data-driven models, algorithms, and systems
• 3+ years in people management, with a proven track record of developing and managing high-performing teams
• Expert skills in Python or R, and experience with SQL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets
• Excellent oral & written communication skills and strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $235,000.00 to $270,250.00 per year.
