Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineers

Employer : EMD Millipore Corporation

Job Location: 80 Ashby Road, Bedford, MA 01730

Telecommuting is available as long as the individual lives in the Bedford, MA region, as some in-office work is required each week.

Job Duties:

• Design process equipment and manufacturing fixtures in new product development programs;
• Create detail drawings of designs for manufacturing purposes;
• Interface with other engineers and groups within the organization to collaborate on deliverables for development programs;
• Participate in large, multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to share and exchange data and design ideation for new product development and design of automation equipment;
• Work closely with in-house Model Shop and with external vendors to execute construction of parts, sub-assemblies and custom equipment;
• Test designs and ideas in lab environment; and
• Use 3D printing or other rapid prototyping technologies to advance product development projects quickly.

Travel Requirement: 10% domestic and 10% international travel required per year.

Requirements:

The Employer requires a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering plus five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing process equipment, components/assemblies, and manufacturing fixtures in an Industrial or Research and Development setting.

Alternatively,

The Employer requires a Master's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering plus three (3) years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing process equipment, components/assemblies, and manufacturing fixtures in an Industrial or Research and Development setting.

Additionally, the successful candidate must have:

• Demonstrated ability creating detailed engineering drawings of equipment using SolidWorks/Creo 3D modeling software following applicable codes and standards gained through two (2) years of work experience;

• Demonstrated ability interfacing with other engineers, scientists, and groups within and outside the organization to complete development projects and assist in solving manufacturing issues gained through two (2) years of work experience;

• Demonstrated ability working closely with machine shops and with external vendors to execute construction of parts, sub-assemblies and custom equipment gained through two (2) years of work experience; and

• Demonstrated knowledge of multiphysics analysis software tools (such as ANSYS, ADINA, COMSOL, or SolidWorks Simulation) to reduce risk in product designs with regards to performance, safety and development time gained through two (2) years of work experience.
  

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
