We launched from stealth in 2020, raised $65 million in back-to-back Series A & B funding, grew 5X, were named a LinkedIn Top Startup, are building an incredible team and award-winning culture, and are managing over a billion dollars in spend for companies like DocuSign, Intercom, Notion, Plaid, & Greenhouse. Now is the perfect time to join. The best is yet to come! đŸŒ´đŸš€

Location(s)

For this position, we are looking to hire someone based in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Washington.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Spend Management team, who will be focusing on integrations that provide our customers with powerful insights into how to optimize their SaaS spend. This person should have experience managing the end-to-end product development process, quickly iterating through technical challenges and delivering user-facing features in B2B environments.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for product discovery, feature definition, information architecture, project management, user experience and analytics related to integrations with third-party platforms and Tropic. This will start with functionality in Tropic’s Spend Management products – where we track usage of SaaS applications and spend.

You will report to the VP of Product and Design and constantly partner with customers, leadership, other product managers, cross-functional stakeholders, designers, and engineers on our remote-first team distributed across North America (our biggest footprints are in New York, Denver, and Atlanta), Europe, and beyond.

Our product, engineering, and design teams don’t subscribe to a single methodology, instead, we combine the best development and project management strategies to support the industry-defining features we’re building.

We love systems, do our best to automate or document repeatable processes, proactively collect and organize product feedback and we hope you have creative ideas to make our team and company stronger as we scale.

What You'll Do

  • Create feature pitch documents to share with your leadership, product and engineering teams to help circulate feature ideas.
  • Create and maintain feature backlogs to drive roadmap planning and prioritize new features based on customer and internal team needs, business goals, technical feasibility, and resources.
  • Manage the product development process from end-to-end for product improvements in one or many of Tropic’s core user-facing or internal service delivery-focused features
  • Regularly meet with prospects, customers, and teams to discuss their needs and synthesize findings to inform product strategy.
  • Analyze usage and organize product feedback for the core features you’re managing.
  • Increase transparency by surfacing, tracking, and communicating the right business metrics and better feedback loops.
  • Understand the competitive landscape by keeping up with the latest trends in procurement and finance software platforms.
  • Work closely with pre and post-sale teams to launch new features, develop release communication, and go-to-market plans, and drive product adoption.
  • Define and participate in systems and processes that allow the product team to work effectively across the organization.

What You’ve Done

  • You have 5+ years relevant experience in product management, including some with integrations. Bonus points if you have experience with financial and accounting products.
  • You are familiar with embedded integration platform as a service tools (like Workato, Tray.io, etc)
  • You have successfully built products that rely on integrations with other SaaS applications.
  • You’re equally comfortable communicating thoughts, ideas and features in writing across different mediums, through sketches and wireframes of varying fidelity or when speaking in-person and on video.
  • You have phenomenal analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • You are comfortable working with products that rely on extracting and organizing complex datasets.
  • You are a self-starter and know how to get things done while working remotely.
  • You love to keep things organized, but you know when to accommodate a lack of structure for the sake of speed.
  • You enjoy working closely with designers, developers, and business stakeholders and you are able to establish and facilitate trust, respect and collaboration across a group to make informed decisions.
  • You excel in breaking down complex feature requests into small, measurable components that facilitate asynchronous work.
  • You have a strong user-centric mindset and you know how to collect user feedback and put it into action.
  • You have experience deploying different project management strategies and you don’t shy away from helping others organize and clarify their tasks for the greater good of a project.
  • You often experiment with SaaS platforms and new functionality to find new, more efficient ways to accomplish tasks. Especially helpful if you’re proficient with Figma, Trello, Productboard, Shortcut (fka Clubhouse), and Mixpanel.
  • You may not have engineering experience, but you are able to participate and share the user’s voice in conversations about technical concepts, database architecture or APIs etc.

Compensation

Specific to pay transparency laws, the minimum annual salary for this position is $150,000 and may also include commission, incentive pay, incentive stock options, and benefits. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.

  • Remote first work environment
  • Optional offices in NYC, Atlanta, Austin, and Denver
  • Virtual & in-person meetups
  • 401k plan with 4% company matching
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents

  • Annual learning and development stipend
  • Annual WFH stipend
