Availity recently formed a Clinical Business Unit and Center of Excellence that operates at the exciting intersection of healthcare solutioning and information technology. This highly innovative team is growing and looking to establish a brand-new solution to support health plans who are seeking to exchange health information and comply with the CMS recently proposed payer-to-payer government mandate.
Reporting to the Clinical Connectivity Senior Product Line Manager, the Payer-to-payer Senior Product Owner will be a key member of the Connectivity product team, responsible for setting the vision for and defining the new payer-to-payer solution offering. The Senior Product Owner will support the Clinical Connectivity product team, working with dedicated scrum teams to shape the product roadmap (specifically for the Payer-to-Payer clinical data exchange use case), define project scope, and lead the overall roadmap execution efforts. As one of the key leaders in product development, you will represent the voice of our payer customers to inform the requirements and design of product features and technical features that the team will develop. You will have a deep understanding of payer customers and user segments and help prioritize feature development for each product release.
As an Availity Senior Product Owner, you are the domain specialist who owns and drives the vision for the product development project. You are the single person ultimately responsible for its success. In this role, you represent the business in the scrum team and work with user groups and stakeholders to determine what features will be in each product release. As the bridge between the Product Manager and the delivery team, you must align both parties to a common goal while aggressively managing stakeholder expectations. You define what success means for the team and the product while facilitating the Customer Team process and serving as their spokesperson. In this exciting new role, you will be charged with building and growing a brand new and exciting solution with some of the preeminent health plans in the country.

To be qualified for this position:

2-5 years of experience working in a healthcare technology role, ideally in a Product Owner position

2 years of experience working with FHIR product development and the Hl7 FHIR standard

Experience working in Agile product development / leading agile ceremonies

Possess excellent communication skills: written and oral as you will be expected to engage with customers and internal teams daily

Experience in gathering gather technical and functional requirements and delegate effectively

Strong analytical skills

Creating compelling documentation that reflects what we are building, why we are building it, and how it links to business needs, refining requirements into actionable definitions

Tracking CMS government regulations and Hl7 industry workgroups related to payer-to-payer data exchange, gathering and documenting requirements to further inform our payer-to-payer solution build

Participating in and at times leading numerous weekly meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Providing status updates of issues and progress

Supporting scrum teams in building and maintaining our payer-to-payer solution

Leading calls, facilitating key deliverables, UAT as part of delivery process, etc.

Maintaining ranked order of backlog of user stories and product defects based on business value

Participating in agile standups/ceremonies, refinement, and maintaining the backlog and writing user stories

Lead and communicate the release plan

Work with Support, Implementation and Client Services to manage escalations from client report issues

Engaging with development to commit backlog items to spring deliverables (negotiate on what gets put in each sprint)

Analyzing current pricing and packaging and making recommendations to improve offering
