About the role:

The Senior Recruiting Program Manager, Hiring Experience is an important role on the Global Recruiting Operations & Programs team at Samsara. They will develop, optimize, and scale hiring experience solutions in close partnership with the recruiting team and stakeholders across the business. This program focuses on designing the end-to-end hiring experience, creating standard hiring practices, managing a robust interview training, building strategic listening posts, and creating a best-in-class candidate experience.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing needs, resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done, savvy with tools and systems, and are humble and like to win as a team.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive global programs at scale:
    • Manage large-scale, organization-wide projects aligned to our company goals through effective planning, development, launch, stabilization, and close
    • Partner with Recruiting management, Recruiting Ops & Programs, Business Operations, and the People team to develop, implement, and maintain programs
    • Regularly report on project progress and program metrics
  • Manage the hiring manager & interviewer experience program:
    • Define, develop, and implement innovative, scalable solutions to both improve the recruiting experience and yield quality hires (structured interviews, pre-briefs, debriefs)
    • Partner with the Senior DEI Recruiting PM to reduce bias in our hiring process and implement fair and inclusive solutions
    • Create and manage relevant training paths, certifications, and programs to ensure managers and interviewers are able to interview and hire effectively
  • Operate the candidate experience program:
    • Design and implement the Samsara candidate journey
    • Map and monitor the candidate experience; identifying moments of impact for a candidate
    • Identify, design, and drive candidate experience initiatives and process improvements
  • Spearhead the recruiting listening program:
    • Define, develop, and implement a listening program to inform experience design
    • Track, evaluate, and report on hiring manager and candidate feedback from listening posts to draw insights and make improvements
    • Build strong relationships with recruiting and hiring managers to regularly gather feedback from across the organization
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in program and project management with recent experience running large-scale programs
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting or people operations
  • 3+ years experience driving change and influencing behavior through data and storytelling with both senior executives and team members
  • Proficiency in designing experiences for a customer or candidate
  • Demonstrated competencies
    • Strategic thinking; building and driving a short and long term plan
    • Systems thinking; translating business needs into solutions that leverage and maximize our resources (people, processes, technologies, budget)
    • Generating data insights using tools such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
    • Prioritizing workload and managing multiple large projects simultaneously
    • Communicating and consulting with internal teams and cross-functional partners across geographies and cultures to influence change
    • Working with recruiting technologies such as an ATS or CRM

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with an LMS, LXP, or a content creation tool and other related platforms
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver total compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs). A new hire RSU award is awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers are eligible to receive above target equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$144,000—$225,000 USD

At Samsara, we have adopted a flexible way of working, enabling teams and individuals to do their best work, regardless of where they're based. We value in-person collaboration and know a change of scenery and quiet space to work is welcomed from time to time, but also appreciate that the world of work has changed. Our offices remain open for those who prefer to collaborate or work in-office, but we also encourage fully remote applicants. As most roles are not required to be in the office, we are able to hire remotely where Samsara has an established presence. If a role is required to be in a certain location and candidates do not have work authorization for that location, Samsara will conduct an immigration assessment.
